Bolabolabola
The pong-like generative MIDI sequencer.
Play a note and a ball is born. It falls, it bounces, and every collision plays that note back. Physics does the composing while you set the rules.
One purchase for all devices: Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Gravity is your co-writer.
Plays nice with your whole studio.
Bolabolabola speaks plain MIDI. Drop it in the MIDI FX slot of Logic Pro, AUM, or Cubasis, and it just works. No drivers, no proprietary format, no walled garden. The standalone app also shows up as a CoreMIDI source your DAW can record from.
One note in. A whole game out.
Send Bolabolabola a MIDI note and a ball appears in mid-air, carrying that note with it.
Every bounce, off a wall or off another ball, sends note-on, then note-off as it flies away.
Open the walls and the ball slips through, silent, gone. Up to ten balls at once; the oldest makes way for the newest.
Three knobs. Infinite results.
Gravity
How hard the floor pushes back. Soft gravity lingers; heavy gravity drives.
Mass
How long and how fast the bouncing lasts before things settle down.
Wall shape
From a sealed room to wide open, and everything between. Morph smoothly while it plays.
Beyond the three knobs: continuous rotation (tempo-synced in DAWs), border walls, and spawn mode. Every parameter is automatable over MIDI CC, so your DAW can conduct the game.
